About Paul

Paul McGinnis has been a puppeteer for Sesame Street since 2001. His other television and film credits include The Muppets, Crank Yankers, Warren the Ape, Crash & Bernstein, The West Wing, IFC’s Greg the Bunny, It’s a Big Big World, Dog With a Blog, The Book of Pooh, Felt, and Between the Lions. He has appeared on The Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, The View, The Dr. Oz Show, The Early Show, Top Chef, The Chew, The Wendy Williams Show, The Isaac Mizrahi Show, The Paula Poundstone Show, and The Daytime Emmy Awards.

Paul has puppeteered for such viral video hits as Funny Or Die’s “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” starring Jon Hamm and Broadway’s “the [title of show] show”.  And his puppeteering can be seen in commercials for Sony Bravia, LivingSocial, Go Daddy, and Barcel.

On stage, Paul puppeteered the Audrey II plants for the first national Broadway tour of Little Shop of Horrors. He also manipulated the life-size dinosaur puppets for Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular. Additionally, Paul produces his own works of puppetry for stage and screen, and particularly enjoys creating dance-oriented, Bunraku-style shows.

Paul grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
